Veteran journalist Joseph Alsop thrived in his role as the right-hand man for Washington’s political elite, influencing both policy and public opinion with his inflammatory columns. But as the political certainties of the post-war era began to chip away in the late 1960s, so did Alsop’s authority, both on the page and in his own life.

An L.A. Theatre Works full cast performance featuring:

John Vickery as Joseph Alsop JoBeth Williams as Susan Mary Alsop John Getz as Stewart Alsop David Krumholtz as Halberstam Wilson Bethel as Andrei/Philip Tara Lynne Barr as Abigail

Original music and Sound Designer by John Gromada.

Includes a panel discussion about Joseph Alsop with author Geoffrey Cowan, playwright David Auburn, and journalist Adam Nagourney of The New York Times.

Directed by David Auburn. Recorded in Los Angeles before a live audience at The James Bridges Theater, UCLA in November of 2013.
