The Last Train

The city never sleeps. Neither does revenge.

When an American businessman plummets from a train platform, Detective Hiroshi Shimizu is pulled from his desk and thrust into the city’s glitter and darkness. The only clue: a grainy flash of a woman on a security feed—too calm, too quick, too close to the dead man.

Hiroshi’s search takes him from luxury offices and hostess clubs to the empty, echoing platforms of midnight trains. Partnered with ex-sumo wrestler Sakaguchi and his grizzled mentor Takamatsu, Hiroshi navigates sacred temples, shadowy boardrooms, and the neon-lit streets where billions in land deals change hands and make lives expendable in a merciless maze of corporate greed, real estate corruption, and quiet desperation.

Every lead drags him deeper into the city’s shadows—where fortunes are made on land deals, and lives are lost over a single secret. In the world’s most expensive city, inside information is currency, and Hiroshi is running out of both time and luck as the elusive killer plots her escape.

As Hiroshi closes in on the former hostess bent on revenge, he discovers that the truth in Tokyo can be as treacherous as the city itself. Hiroshi’s determined to cut through Tokyo’s confusions to find the murdering ex-hostess before she extracts her final revenge—which just might be him.
