The Unforgetting

Ten years ago, Reagan's friend died in a tragic accident. But what if it wasn't an accident? The morning after a wild college graduation party, we found Lanie Martin at the bottom of a ravine, dead from a terrible fall and a snapped neck. We told the police it was an accident. What else could we say? We panicked. We were wasted the night before. So before the cops arrived, we cleaned up the scene and got our stories straight. Ella swore me to silence about what I saw. Said there was nothing to it. And maybe there wasn't... but I've never been sure. Now, ten years later, I'm a new mom battling crushing postpartum depression—and the memories I buried are starting to resurface. Flashbacks. Fractured images. Fear and dread. Then the invitation arrives: a ten-year reunion at Ella's family camp in the Adirondacks. A weekend of remembrance and healing. But something tells me this isn't about healing. This is about secrets. And someone wants them to stay buried. What really happened that night at the cabin? What did I see—and why did I forget? I came for closure. I came to remember. But if I uncover the truth, I might not leave here alive. Some buried secrets are better left unearthed.
