They've discovered a possible cure.

Can Kimberly get it to safety before all is lost?

Months after the traumatic events in Atlanta, Kimberly Gellar and her new friends have established Woodside, a walled-in community of survivors led by the best, brightest, and most heroic among them. And a CDC doctor with them has created a promising cure for the virus and tested it on the man Kimberly has begun to fall for, who promptly shows strange and concerning side effects.

When Woodside is besieged by the infected, Kimberly smuggles the potential cure out of their safe haven before the infected can get in, intending to search for a still-operational CDC facility with only Ethan Bennett to guide and protect her.

As the community collapses and the lives of her friends are threatened, can Kimberly get the cure to where it can do some good? And can she get help to Woodside before everyone she left behind ends up dead at the hands of the infected after nearly two years of survival?
