Vicious Creatures

From the Sunday Times bestselling author of Daughter of the Moon Goddess comes a darkly romantic and gripping stand-alone fantasy, inspired by the Lady White Snake myth—a tale of obsession, yearning, and vengeance, in a mythical world of vicious creatures.

Love will cage you, or set you free.

West Lake Town is the most beautiful and dangerous place in the realm, the mortals surrounded by legendary snake and fox spirits. The fragile peace among these creatures is shattered when the powerful Suzhen falls in love with a mortal, a forbidden union with devastating consequences.

After she is betrayed and imprisoned, Suzhen’s captivity ignites a brutal conflict. When her son comes of age, Ren sets out to rescue his mother and seek vengeance, trained by her devoted companion who raised him.

Ren infiltrates the enemy’s domain, gaining their trust. As he grows unexpectedly closer to the mortal leader’s daughter, the shackles of the past tighten relentlessly around him. To save his mother and his people, Ren must be ruthless—even if he ruins those he’s grown to cherish.

Vicious Creatures is an unforgettable and riveting tale where the bonds of blood are tangled with those of the heart, and the most treacherous power of all is love.
