جاء في مقدمة الكتاب: أمّا بعد: فهذا أحد الأجزاء الحديثية القيمة التي تشهد لهذه الأمة بسبقها وتقدّمها في مجال العلم والمعرفة، والهداية والتبصير وهو جزءٌ يستمدُّ اهميته وقيمته العلمية من أمور: أهمها محتوياته ومضامينه فقد احتوى على أحاديث رسول الله التي هي قرينة التنزيل ووحيٌ من رب العالمين إلى رسوله الأمين، فلا وصول إلى معرفة حقيقة هذا الدين إلا بها، إذ هي ضميمة القرآن ومنها يؤخذ التبيين والتفصيل، فلا نجاة إلا بالسير على طريقها والأخذ بتشريعاتها والوقوف عند أوامرها وعدم انتهاك محارمها.
