ما هو المقصور والممدود؟ يُعرف الاسم الممدود بأنه كل اسم يتم إعرابه يكون في آخره همزة ويوجد قبلها ألف مد مثل السماء، الوفاء، الصحراء، ويتم إعراب الاسم الممدود وفقاً لموقعه في الجملة، فهو يأخذ علامات الضمة وقت الرفع، والفتحة عند النصب، والكسرة عند الجر. ويعرف الاسم المقصور بأنه كل اسم يتم إعرابه يوجد في آخره ألف لازمة مفتوح ما قبلها، مثال: فتى، مستشفى، علا، عصا، ندى، مصطفى وغيرها.
