مما شيد عظمة الدولة الأموية الفتوحات الإسلامية، لذلك العهد التي جعلت للإسلام عالما مترامي الأطراف نشر فيه مدنية وعلما ودينًا جديدًا، ويقصر الكلام هنا على ما كان من فتح الأندلس ، وإذا ما رجعنا ما تقدم نجد أن الحوادث مكنت العرب من الاستيلاء على الأندلس، ويرجع فضل ذلك إلى جرأة طارق وإقدام موسى بن نصير، ثم لا نلبث أن نرى عودة هذه القائدين ومصير الأندلس إلى الولاية، وكان خروج موسى عام 96ه واستمر حكم الولاة حتى عام 138ه وفي تلك المدة الوجيزة تعددت الحوادث التاريخية المهمة .
