قد دلت البحوث على أن الثقافة المصرية كانت تضرب بأعراقها في ثقافة أفريقيا وتقاليدها، وأن العلاقات الظاهرة بين البلدين ترجع إلى أصل أفريقي. ويُعْزَى ذلك بطبيعة الحال أولًا إلى الأطوار التي كان لها ارتباط وثيق بحياة القوم الروحية منذ أقدم العهود من حيث الدين واللغة والجنس، وهي عناصر لها أثرها الفعال في تقدم القوم ونموهم، وقد دلت البحوث على أن كل العناصر الأصلية كانت أفريقية النبعة في الأعم؛ وبذلك لعبت مصر بجوارها المباشر لبلاد لوبيا غربًا دورًا هامًّا في تاريخها يشبه الدور الذي لعبته في بلاد السودان جنوبًا.
