"Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday morning commissioned the first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant in a ceremony at Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi. Apart from that, a new flag known as Ensign or Nishaan was unveiled today. The new flag bears Indian tricolour, however it replaces the St George’s cross. Instead it bears Indian Navy crest on a navy blue background enclosed in a octagon representing the royal seal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji Maharaj is also called the father of the Indian Navy. However, for INS Vikrant it is a rebirth after 25 years. What makes it special is that INS Vikrant is a first ever India-made aircraft carrier. What are the brand new specifications of the sea beast which is now proudly deployed in the Indian naval fleet, let us talk about that in today’s video Learn more about your ad choices.
