ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

“All Systems Red” follows Murderbot, a security android with hacked programming, allowing it to bypass its governor module and act freely. Despite its mechanical nature, Murderbot’s deep, sarcastic inner monologue reveals a complex personality. Assigned to protect a group of humans on a planetary survey mission, Murderbot would rather focus on watching entertainment feeds than engaging with the team. However, when the group encounters a series of threats, including a deadly creature and rogue robots, Murderbot must step up, grappling with its own identity, autonomy, and the human relationships it’s reluctant to care about. The novella explores themes of self-determination and belonging.
