I tried to gather my thoughts for a few days after completing this book. The character as well the incident keep on pinning my brain for a longer time. This is a story of a man name Yozo. Narrator reads his story from three diaries. They never met. Yozo believes he is not a human but he acts like them. He believes he is not human, mist of the actions by fellow human doesn't maje any sense. Why is it important to eat meals three times a day? When for the first time he saw a bridge at a railway station, he thought it's for amusement. Later when he got to know about its real importance he was quite... Disappointed. This is actually a semi-autobiography. No wonder, in places, Dazai has definitely shared his views through Yozo. But exactly which one? I wonder. But what questions me more is why is this book loved so much? It is the second nest selling books in Japan. Is it Yozo's unapologetic questions? Or is it Dazai's way of turning fiction to a most realistic and sensible book?
