All three fear a life of confinement within the walls of the hold, their people’s last bastion of strength against the invading Saxons. However, change comes on the day ash falls from the sky – bringing Myrdhin, meddler and magician. The siblings discover the power that lies within them and the land. But fate also brings Tristan, a warrior whose secrets will tear them apart.
Riva, Keyne and Sinne become entangled in a web of treachery and heartbreak, and must fight to forge their own paths. It’s a story that will shape the destiny of Britain.
Sistersong is a powerfully moving story, perfect for readers who loved Naomi Novik’s Uprooted and Katherine Arden’s The Bear and the Nightingale.

The beginning of the book was AMAZING. The story was told very smoothly and the material was super interesting. But then the mythology it was based on got integrated into the story and things two of the main characters started doing became senseless. Especially for one of them, I feel like the character shifted completely from how we introduced to her in the beginning. I felt like the decisions she made and the actions she took made no sense and were completely the frustrating. I also felt like the plot twist at the final quarter of the book was a bit predictable because we are constantly hinted to it from the first half of the book. I am going back and forth between rating this book a 3 or a 4 but I didn’t want to do it any injustice because overall while there were flaws with the story after the first quarter of the book, the writing was, in my opinion, impeccable and the narrator did an amazing job with characterization and emoting the feelings of the chapters
