India has topped the charts when it comes to the per litre cost of LPG when considering the purchasing power of the currencies in the respective domestic markets. Not only that, India is among the top 10 countries when it comes to prices of petrol and diesel in the upper bracket. India ranks 3rd in the world when it comes to high cost of petrol per litre. and eighth in case of Diesel. The spillover effect of which is also seen on other aspects of life. Generally, the govt and the supporters of the govt give arguments of Russia-Ukraine war, external conditions, high crude oil prices for the fuel price hike in the country. But a report based on purchasing power parity in different countries shows that Indian citizens are paying relatively more money for fuel than their counterparts in other countries in the respective domestic markets.
