Nordic Portraits

Nikolaj Lies Kaas is an actor, writer and director who rose to prominence as a fresh-faced 17-year old with his award-winning performance in the 1991 Danish classic Drengene fra Sankt Petri. Since then, Nikolaj has become a household name by virtue of starring in such seminal films as Blinkende Lygter, Dirch and the Department Q film series as well as most recently in Charlotte Sieling’s drama/thriller, Vejen Hjem.

Nina Persson is a musician and songwriter best known as the frontwoman for Swedish rock band The Cardigans. Following their breakthrough global megahit ‘Lovefool’ the band released a string of commercial and critically successful albums, having sold over 15 million records to date. In addition, Nina has lent her songwriting and vocal prowess to a range of solo and collaborative projects, most recently with Scottish folk musician James Yorkston and the Secondhand Orchestra.

Petra Kleis is a photographer, best known for her striking portraits of Denmark’s biggest names from the world of art, music, film and politics. Having ascended to the country’s most sought-after fashion and portrait photographer, Petra also continues to develop long term art projects including 2019’s critically acclaimed monograph ‘Girlification’ - lauded by many for its bold exploration of female sexuality and positive body image.

Petra Kleis

Iben Hjejle is an actor of both screen and stage, who burst onto the international scene with her critically-acclaimed performance in Søren Kragh Jacobsen’s Dogme 95 classic Mifunes Sidste Sang as well as starring in Stephen Frear’s romantic comedy hit, High Fidelity. In addition, Iben has become a household name in her native Denmark by virtue of her memorable roles in Langt Fra Las Vegas, Klovn, Dicte as well as stage productions of Faust, Hamlet and Jordens Indre.

Henrik Vibskov is a leading figure in the world of fashion. A multi-disciplinary artist, primarily working with textiles... and the mastermind behind a successful global fashion brand. Since 2003 he has been a member of the illustrious Chambre Syndicale de la Mode Masculine and is currently the only Scandinavian designer on the official show schedule of the Paris Men’s Fashion Week - a platform he uses to turn heads with his playful, avante-garde and intricate scenography.

Henrik Vibskov

Lone Scherfig is a film director and screenplay writer who rose to global acclaim with her 2000 Dogme classic Italian for Beginners and has since been responsible for a number of highly successful English language films including the Academy Award nominated An Education (2007), The Riot Club (2014) and Their Finest (2016). Lone also boasts the honour of being the first ever female director to be invited to conduct the prestigious David Lean Lecture at BAFTA.

Søren Solkær is one of Scandinavia's leading art photographers, perhaps best known for his distinctive portraits of musicians - the likes of which include Björk, The White Stripes, The Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse and U2. Søren has spent the greater part of the last three decades releasing numerous books and exhibiting his work globally. More recently, Søren has turned his attention to photographing spectacular large murmurations of starlings for BLACK SUN - a project that is already garnering critical acclaim.

Søren Solkær

Sharin Foo is a musician and one half of the critically-acclaimed and globally revered indie rock, shoegaze, garage, noise, everything genre-shapeshifting band The Raveonettes. In the early 2000s, Sharin and her bandmate Sune conquered the US and beyond and have been touring and releasing albums regularly ever since, making them one of Denmark’s most successful musical exports to date. Sharin has also been involved in a range of projects beyond music, fuelling her passion for a multi-disciplinary approach to art.

Alchemist is a culinary experience unlike any other - a multi-sensory journey through 50 courses to be enjoyed over six hours. Two Michelin stars and Denmark's 'Restaurant of the Year'... all for a young man still in his 20s.

Rasmus Munk

Thure Lindhardt is an accomplished actor of both stage and screen who has over the past two decades built a successful international career. You might know him best as Detective Henrik Sabroe from Danish / Swedish nordic noir crime series The Bridge or as the leading man in modern Danish cinematic gems Flammen og Citronen, Nordkraft and A Place Nearby. Not to mention his Hollywood career which includes Ron Howard’s Angels and Demons and Sean Penn’s Into the Wild.

Thure Lindhardt

Elisabeth Toubro is a renowned sculptor, perhaps best known for her public art pieces including City Fractal in Søren Kierkegaards Plads in Copenhagen and The Squares Well Loop fountain structure in Store Torv in Aarhus. In addition, Elisabeth has exhibited widely in Denmark and abroad, with her impressive body of work earning her amongst other prizes, the coveted Thorvaldsen Medal and Premio Internazionale di Scultura from the Nivola Foundation in Rome.
