EP18: Dismembered in the Desert

When 15-year-old Mary Vincent stuck her thumb out along the side of a road in Berkley, California, her hope was to hitch a ride away from her strict parents towards a new beginning. Mary was positively thrilled when a grandfatherly looking man in a truck pulled up beside her and offered to drive her exactly where she wanted to go. But when the driver veered off route and instead drove Mary, who was suddenly now his captive, to a completely isolated desert in the pitch black of night, she knew in her gut that her life was in danger. And when her captor removed a hatchet from his toolkit, this young girl's life was forever, and irrevocably, altered in the most horrific of ways. Because the man who so kindly offered Mary Vincent a free ride just hours earlier was none other than Larry Singleton, more famously known as the "Mad Chopper." And the heinous acts of sexual violence and mutilation inflicted on this innocent teenage girl is truly what nightmares are made of.
