Tragically, newborn baby fatalities and/or near-death collapses were occuring abruptly and often, and crucially, under the care and supervision of one young nurse named Lucy Letby. As the expression goes: once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern. Seventeen times (at least) is the work of the most prolific child serial killer in modern UK history.
