The 40k Lorecast

On Today’s cast we conclude our listener cast on “where are the Primarchs now” with a focus on the Loyalists. After a very quick trip into very dead Ferrus Manus, we spend a bunch of time on John’s favorite Primarch Guilliman. He is awesome, sorry. Then we throw Brad a bone and jump into Leman Russ. We follow this up with Sangunius and Corax, and then Vulkan. Then we make Brad admit that Rogal Dorn is awesome, and then conclude on the Lion.

Episode 64 - "Where are they now" Primarch edition - the Loyalists

On Today’s cast we start our coverage of the Tau. What they are, where they come from, and their history. We open with the surprise they were to the imperium, going from stone age to plasma in less than 60,000 years. From there we dive into the story of rise of the Tau and the introduction of the Ethereal. Then how the Ethereals changed the Tau into the full Caste structures that helped them rise up at an amazing rate. We then dive into what a Tau is physically and also what is a kroot, and how pointless the vespid are. We then close with the real force behind the Tau the Ethereals.

Episode 65 - The Tau Pt 1 - What they are, where the come from, and how they rose up

On todays cast we conclude our coverage of the Tau. We start with a breakdown of their styles of battle Mont’ka, Kauyon, and of course shield drone jubilee. After that we dive into the warfare technology of drones, battle suits and weaponry. From there we go into the expansion history of the Tau with the Spheres. From there we dive into Far sight, Shadowsun, and close with Aun’va.

Episode 66 - The Tau Pt 2 - How they fight, their weapons, and their key leaders.

On Today’s cast we start our coverage of the Space Wolves. We open with the creation of the 6th legion by the emperor and its initial design and function in the Galaxy. From there we move into Leman Russ and his arrival on Fenris, and ascension to the leader of the Space Wolf legion. After this we move onto how an aspirant is chosen and then how they become a Space Wolf. Then we focus on the Space Wolves history from pre-heresy through Leman leaving the galaxy. Our main focus is on how the events of the Horus Heresy affected Leman and by proxy his legion. We close on how Brad broke the Space Wolves with a horrible, horrible list that caused GW to nerf the entire army.

Episode 67 - Space Wolves Pt 1 - What they are, where they come from and (of course) Leman Russ

On Today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the Space Wolves. Today’s cast is completely about the epic characters that make up the Space Wolf Lore. We open with a quick bit about the Space Wolves’ opinion on remembrancers. From there we go hard and jump through some of our personal favorites including Bjorn, Harl Greyweaver, Logan Grimnar, Ulrik the Slayer, Njal Stormcaller, the 13th great company, Ragnar Blackmane, and the one and the only (and the epic) Lukas the Trickster.

Episode 68 - Space Wolves Pt 2 - Our favorite characters

On today’s cast we are doing a John special. This cast is a dive into some our favorite broken rules of the game over the past 20+ years. A fun trip down memory lane, some of those memories are little bad for some players. We open with explaining Rules As Written and how that sets up some of these funny interactions. After that we dive head first into some glorious things like: no pre-measuring, guess weapons, custom vehicles, instant death, grey knight and Eldar daemon summoning, invisibility, impossible combat due to base to base rules, and more. We hope you find this fun and funny as we did.

Episode 69 - GW Rules Oopsies - When lore and tabletop rules dont mix

On today’s cast we start our coverage of the Death Watch,
the special forces of the Space Marines. 
We start with a quick overview of what the Death Watch are and then dive
a bit into their two different founding stories (one was way better than the other). After that we talk about how a Space Marine
joins the Death Watch, both the official and common practice as well as the
Black Shield style. From there we focus
a bit more on how the Death Watch function as a fighting force in the imperial
forces, with their smaller and more specific goals and actions to achieve great
success via tiny events.

Episode 70 - Death Watch pt 1 - Who are the Death Watch and how does one become one

On today’s cast we conclude our coverage of the Death Watch,
the special forces of the Space Marines. 
We open with some of our favorite weapons and equipment of the Death
Watch. Namely we focus on how
specialized an borderline heretic their equipment and weaponry are. We also focus on how much of a nightmare it
was to play against the death watch as a xenos player during certain
editions. After this we spend some time
talking about how the Death Watch interact with the other factions of the
imperium. Lastly we talk about the
overall structure of the Death Watch, with focus on some of their key fortresses
and where they got them

Episode 71 - Death Watch pt 2 - Their weapons, tactics, facilites, stories and more.

On todays cast we begin our coverage of the random Xenos of
the galaxy. Our focus is on some of the
Xenos that have no codex. Thes are races
that appear in stories, codexes, and some of GW’s side games. Many of these races have only a few (very
well written) paragraphs on them in the lore, so it is more of a quick rundown
on each of the races. On todays cast we
cover: The Tepresi, Cythor Fiends,
Caryatids, Rak’Gol, the Slaugth and more.

Episode 72 - Random Xenos of the Galaxy pt 1

On todays cast we complete or coverage of the xenos of the
galaxy. Diving again head first into a
ton of super random Xenos that GW has written into the game. Although we do start with the Jokaero, so
that is awesome! Some others are the
Enoulians, Laer, Maug, the Hrud, and others. 
We also talk a bit more about the times the imperium has made deals with
xenos in exchange for technology, and each time they end up killing lots of
imperial citizens, and eventually the xenos.
