“God’s Country” with brothers Dan and Reid Isbell is a rollicking weekly podcast that sits at the intersection of country music and the great outdoors. Each episode explores how today’s biggest and most talented country stars and songwriters pull inspiration from rugged,  first-hand relationships with the natural world. Nashville songwriters by profession who spent their childhoods getting muddy in the wilds of Tennessee, Dan and Reid draw on their own passion for hunting and fishing to lead a thought-provoking and fun exploration of the fundamental role of outdoor living in country music.


God's Country

This week Reid and Dan host their dad, the infamous Grandy, out in God’s Country. The episode starts with Reid and Dan diving in with what they’re glad at this week and Grandy sharing what he’s a little “upset” about. They cover the importance of “Hunters for the Hungry” and how the listeners can get involved with this incredible program. Grandy shares incredible stories about running hunting dogs, Reid and Dan’s upbringing, and what it’s been like watching them on their Nashville journey. There is a banter that almost ends in a fight between the brothers and the Gravorite from this episode will have you livin on Tulsa Time!

Ep. 55: Life Advice, Hunting Antics with Grandy, and Hunters for the Hungry

This week Reid and Dan host #1 and platinum artist, Ella Langley, out in God’s Country. The episode has a bit of a twist where Ella has her dad, Jason, join her in the studio to talk her upbringing and tell some epic southern whitetail stories. Jason shares a different side of Ella that fans typically don’t see and Ella shares what it’s been like seeing her viral hit with Riley Green go number one. The guys do a play off her tune “You Look Like You Love Me” and expose how they’ve completely lost their game. The episode ends with hearing what’s to expect next from Ella Langley and a Gravorite that will have you looking through “Rose Colored Glasses."

Ep. 60: Drones, Raising Tough Kids, and Airplane Etiquette with George Birge

This week Reid and Dan host the voice of country music, Bobby Bones, out in God's Country. Right off the bat the guys dive in on the drone problem Bobby has been facing with them surveilling his house and how he has been researching legal ways to handle it. Bobby shares his outdoor experiences as a young kid growing up underprivileged in Arkansas and even dials in his former stepdad, Arkansas Keith, to join in on the conversation. They touch on the hot topic conversation of Beyonce and Post Malone joining the world of Country Music and Bobby shares where he thinks the future of Country Music is headed. The episode ends with a "raging" singalong that is not a typical "Gravorite" jam session.

Ep. 61: Bird Dog Hunting and the State of Country Music with Bobby Bones

This week Reid and Dan host multi-hit songwriter and co-host of the "Try That in a Small Town" podcast, Neil Thrasher, out in God's Country. Neil claims anyone who is good at music, should be good at golf too. This claim had the brothers floored, but soon had them believers. From there they dive in on hunting in the south, recapping 2024 deer season, and Neil recaps his favorite Tennessee Turkey story that he loves to tell anyone who will listen. Reid and Dan discuss the highs and lows of songwriting with Neil and he shares where the smash song "Try That in a Small Town” came from.
