Headlines lie. United Airlines has NOT purchased 100 electric airplanes. So why do they lie? By 1838 the crossing took 15 days. But not with sails. Maybe electric planes will one day fly but probably not with lithium ion batteries. I can fill my car's gas tank in 120 seconds. Recharging an ecar battery takes far longer; that won't work for me. There is a colossal and widespread misunderstanding; please let me explain why electricity is not a substitute for natural gas, coal, petroleum, or nuclear.
