China’s crew capsule concerns.

The Rebelle Rally is an eight-day, 2,500-kilometer navigation challenge across the Nevada and California deserts with no GPS, no cell phones. Competitors rely solely on analog tools like compasses, maps, and roadbooks to find hidden checkpoints and navigate unforgiving terrain. But behind the scenes, it’s a modern logistics feat made possible by satellite-powered tracking, scoring, communications, and emergency response — all delivered via Iridium’s technology. We spoke with Iridium’s COO Suzi McBride about participating and enabling this event.

Voyager Technologies and Infleqtion have announced a strategic partnership to advance dual-use quantum technology in low-Earth orbit (LEO) and beyond. Europe pushes forward in the direct-to-device space race.

Defense contractors, including space industry companies who are doing work with the Department of Defense, have requirements in their contracts right now to implement cybersecurity requirements to various degrees. Those requirements have been in contracts for a very long time. Unfortunately, there has never been a mechanism in those contracts to make contractors prove that they're doing those things. And over the years, there have been multiple instances where the DOD has paid the price as a result of their contractors being compromised. That’s about to change. The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Program comes into effect on November 10, 2025. The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Program.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an emergency order that prohibits commercial space launches and reentries during peak daytime hours. The launch of a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas 5 carrying the ViaSat-3 F2 mission is scrubbed for a second night in a row. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has introduced his first federal budget which includes C$182.6m ($130M) over three years for the defence ministry to establish capability for space launches, and more.
