It’s time for a very special live episode with the iconic Chris O’Dowd & Dawn O’Porter, all in aid of the fabulous charity Choose Love. Recorded live at the Union Chapel with an incredible audience, mum rustled up a bunch of gorgeous canapés for our guests and she even brought a vat of her famous chicken soup for some lucky audience members. Chris & Dawn were just brilliant, we learnt about their Christmas plans, Dawn’s acting debut in the TV series Skins, what food was served at their wedding, Chris’ love of breakfast, why garlic holds a special place in their hearts, how Dawn put together the charity Choose Love, and this now marks the 3rd Irish guest this series mum has been able to talk about her Irish passport with! Choose Love does the most incredible work for refugees all over the world, and so far they have raised an incredible £120 million all going directly to those in need. Oh, what’s occurring? We’ve only got Ruth Jones & James Corden - aka Smithy & Nessa - joining us for dinner! The creators and stars of hit and beloved comedy, Gavin & Stacey popped round to tell us all the exclusives about the upcoming Christmas special and final ever episode. After binging the entire 3 series in a week, I have a lot of questions. We found out that James & Ruth secretly started writing the episode years ago, Ruth loves going on a literary cruise, how they boiled eggs in kettles when travelling, that Ruth surprised James at his 40th birthday in Mexico, how Ruth was hypnotised to hate chocolate, that James is loving living back in London, and you really, really don’t want to miss Nessa & Smithy giving us their ‘last supper’! Happy New Year! We have a corker of an episode to kick of the 2025 season, the delightful Jesse Eisenberg. Jesse popped over for a late lunch to celebrate the release of his new film ‘A Real Pain’ which is beautiful.

We learnt all about filming in Poland, working with his 8 year old son to create a home restaurant, celebrating ‘Thanksliving’ where they adopt a turkey, his bizarre first date with his wife, working with Emma Stone and what it's like growing up with a professional clown for a mum! Thank you Jesse for helping us celebrate the start of 2025, good luck with award season, we’re rooting for you! A Real Pain is released in cinemas in the UK on 8th January - don’t miss it.

This week, we’re thrilled to welcome our new best friend, the incredible Colman Domingo! One of the best-dressed men in Hollywood (with a velvet voice that could melt butter), Colman joined us for a Goat’s Cheese tart from mum’s latest cookbook obsession, Sunlight & Breadcrumbs, beetroot salad, Nigella’s moon-blushed tomatoes, followed by a meringue- like cookie!

We talked about everything; his film Sing Sing, based on the transformative real-life Rehabilitation Through the Arts program at Sing Sing Maximum Security Prison, his secrets for perfect fried chicken (buttermilk and peanut oil!), his passion for condiments (he even carries peach barbecue sauce in his bag when he travels) and why his mum, Edith, remains a guiding force in his life. 

Sing Sing is a powerful and deeply moving film, led by a stunning performance from Colman. It’s out now—don’t miss it! And keep an eye out for him in the next season of Euphoria and an exciting upcoming project with Steven Spielberg.

This week we have Tim Cook - CEO of Apple - joining us for brunch at mums. Sandwiched between a meeting with the Prime Minister and afternoon tea with the King & Queen, Tim popped over to join us in Clapham and mum rustled up a Kedgeree. Tim brought us his favourite Californian Chardonnay and some very special spiced apple jam made from the fruits grown on Apple Park in San Fran (my kids have finished the jar!). Tim told us about waking up before 5am every day to start work, that an Apple Watch saved his dad’s life, his excitement about the upcoming F1 film, his love of caving & hiking, growing up in Alabama, receiving over 600 emails a day, and how he started his career flipping burgers at age 14 for $1 an hour. Thank you Tim for taking time to join us in Clapham, we can’t wait to pop to Cafe Macs for lunch with you soon x

We have documentary legend, Louis Theroux joining us for dinner this week. After getting a puncture on his bike cycling round to Clapham, we sat down for a 3 course dinner served up by mum which included her famous chicken soup. We heard all about when he lived in a brothel, his love of spaghetti hoops and evolving from fussy eating, being born in Singapore, getting a first class degree at Oxford, working with porn stars and we discover his first job was working for a glass blower in Boston! We’re pleased to report that Louis has now fixed his bike and had it fully serviced - looking forward to seeing you out on the roads - or just come by for another glass of wine Louis! 2025 is our year of the Oscar & BAFTA nominees, and this week we have this years 'Best Supporting Actress' nominee Felicity Jones joining us for lunch. Felicity is currently starring in The Brutalist which is absolutely phenomenal, and she told us all about how the beautiful film came together. We discovered the Birmingham born actress is very superstitious, how she got her first role in the radio series ‘The Archers’, filming a Christmas film in the peak of summer, and why she will never be able to star in a musical! The biggest revelation is that we might even be related, or we all just love a wild Birmingham delicacy… We’re rooting for you Felicity, best of luck with all of the award nominations, you’re a superstar! We get to see a legend’s True Colours on the podcast this week! We joined the powerhouse hitmaker Cyndi Lauper for lunch in central London and mum cooked up some borscht especially for the occasion. It was a total honour to hear Cyndi’s stories; we learnt how she grew up in the same house as her whole extended family, how she would play tricks on her priest, her tips on cooking the perfect Italian pasta sauce, how she got kidney stones from spinach, the incredible LGBTQIA+ advocacy work she does, and she confesses that her upcoming tour really will be her last. We sent Cyndi home with some boxes of mum’s borscht - us girls really did have fun with Cyndi, you really don’t want to miss her upcoming UK tour it sounds incredible! This is a GREAT episode. Zooming in from Washington DC, we talk to BBC North America Editor Jon Sopel about his new book ‘UnPresidented'.

Jon reveals that he was known to Trump as 'the guy who asks stroppy questions in the briefing room’. We get to hear about Obama's Christmas parties and the exquisite food laid on compared to the fries and chicken wings at Trump's do. He's been - and reported from - everywhere and we hear what family life is like for an international correspondent. 

Growing up in the East end and spending a lot of time at the Jewish Youth Centre, he tells us about his bar mitzvah and the injustice of his friend's being allowed to sneak off with luncheon vouchers...

He longs to go to the Holly Bush pub in Hampstead as soon as he’s back in London and talks about having a TikTok account, thanks to his daughter who was incredibly impressed that he’s on Table Manners!
