Norman Lear is a living legend, a pioneering TV producer who rewrote the rules for network television with ground-breaking shows like “All in the Family,” “The Jeffersons,” “Maude,” “Sanford and Son” and “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.” He then turned his attention to politics, founding “People for the American Way,” an influential progressive advocacy group defending foundational Constitutional rights including free speech, freedom of religion and equal protection under the law.
