Linux 6.18 is officially out, and officially an LTS release, 6.19 has plenty to be excited about, including the color pipeline API. NVIDIA is making progress with Wayland and other regions, Fedora is moving away from FBCON, and Flowblade sees a Wayland-only future. NPM has a worm problem, and we're still gaining ground on Steam! ULS 229: Full Steam Ahead - AI In Everything, Broken Rust, & Trending Toward Infinity

Flatpak has hit a bump in the road, but Sebastian Wick may have it back on course. KDE is making progress on the upcoming 6.6, and Fedora 43 is out. The Turris Omnia NG is a compelling Linux router, RDSEED has a bit of a problem on AMD Zen 5, and Mozilla drops the ball with AI translations. There's some weird security stories to cover in Open Office and the Linux kernel, and Gnome has dropped its X11 back-end. For tips we have declare for Bash variable and function handling, btrfs-check for btrfs filesystem cleanup, and the Amplitude Soundboard for live sound effects.

ULS 225: Not A Memory Leak - Librephone, Ubo Pod, & Fastmail's Desktop App

This week Ubuntu has released 25.10, and they broke Flatpak support. Qualcomm has purchased Arduino, and we're not sure that's a good thing. Plasma 6.5 is looking to be a great release, and System76 is already releasing Cosmic on a laptop, Beta and all. For tips we have the workaround to install Flatpaks on Ubuntu, printenv to print out all the environment variables, and btrfs-assistant as a nifty graphical user interface for managing btrfs partitions.
