Women In Council

In Women in Council, also known as The Assemblywomen, Aristophanes presents a sharp and satirical exploration of gender roles, politics, and social reform in ancient Athens. The play follows Praxagora, a bold and clever woman, who leads a plot to grant women control over the city-state by disguising them as men and infiltrating the Athenian assembly.
