Dipple is a brilliant if somewhat bungling wizard who accidently drops his wedding band into the Trapdoor of Time. With the aid of his wife Bernadaea, who thinks he has dropped something a lot more dangerous into Time, he sets off to retrieve the ring before she finds out what he is really seeking.
