For centuries, humanity was organized based on a vast social divide. Societies were even empires and slaves. It wasn't until 1989 that the need for our social and commercial contracts to be WIN-WIN—that is, you WIN and I WIN—was raised.
This book, in its first part, proposes the need for a third WIN in social and commercial contracts. It is a lost WIN, the WIN of the BIOSPHERE. We understand the BIOSPHERE not only as the climate, but also as the natural environment, our history, our legacy, our Native Peoples, and the legacy we are called to leave. Only when we understand that a WIN-WIN relationship is insufficient, because it can damage the BIOSPHERE, and that's not fair, do we incorporate a third WIN into our analysis: the WIN for the BIOSPHERE. And as if by magic, once we understand that all human relationships, all human contracts— whether social, commercial, diplomatic, religious, or of any other kind—are interconnected, only then do we understand that DECARBONIZATION is yet another industry, a doctor for modern industry.
By incorporating the third WIN of the BIOSPHERE, DECARBONIZATION ceases to be a political issue, a question of whether climate change exists or not; it ceases to be merely philanthropy, becoming instead a medical industry for industrial processes, a fundamental industry that will be the primary physician for any industrial process.
The book scientifically demonstrates, using GAME THEORY, that the third WIN puts all parties to an agreement in the best position, with no dominant positions or detriment to the BIOSPHERE in industrial processes, allowing the use of even fossil resources, but in an INTELLIGENT way. Furthermore, it demonstrates that COLLABORATION, not just COMPETITION, is vital for addressing the industrial challenges of the future.
The second part of the book delves into applications of DECARBONIZATION, emphasizing the most urgent ones, such as its application to municipal waste, biohazardous waste from clinics, fuels, and the cement, steel, and aluminum industries, among others.
The book has two fundamental aspects: first, it presents a WIN-WIN-WIN social theory to make DECARBONIZATION the primary care physician for modern industrial processes, thus ending the political and philanthropic dichotomy of whether or not to address climate change, whether to stop consuming or continue using existing resources. The second aspect of the book is a manual of DECARBONIZATION applications, with a wide range of uses, ideas, and solutions. A significant portion of the book explores digital applications of DECARBONIZATION, particularly through the use of DIGITAL TWINS.
Another very essential part of the book is the presentation of an ECO PARK, where it shows how one can reach the concept that WASTE is not WASTE, and the goal of zero LANDFILL.
In the future, we will develop a second manual with more applications to demonstrate how this primary care physician, DECARBONIZATION, is fundamental in absolutely all industrial processes.
It is the author's wish that the book will be of great use to a better society.
