ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

"The Tale of Despereaux" by Kate DiCamillo is a fairy tale about a small mouse with big ears who is born with unusual talents. Despereaux loves music, stories, and a human princess named Pea.

However, Despereaux's unconventional behavior leads him to be an outcast in the mouse community and eventually banished to the dungeon, where he encounters rats.
