Born and educated in Mysore, Chitra has always been a voracious reader and prolific writer. Her first literary work appeared in a Tamil magazine when she was still in her teen. Her stories were published by some of the popular Tamil weeklies. She then shifted writing in English and Kannada and has been published in popular magazines. She has co-authored books for children in Kannada together with her sister Vidya. Her historical Kannada novel "Keerthinidhi Kesari Singha" was published recently and has been received very well.
Chitra is a well-known food blogger with a wide following among Netizens. She is currently focused on bringing out entertaining and meaningful works in Kannada, aimed at children and young adults. Chitra currently lives in Bangalore with her husband Mr.Ramachandran.
