A Tale of Jerusalem

"A Tale of Jerusalem" is a story set in ancient Jerusalem, where three priests — Abel-Fitim, Buzi-Ben-Levi, and Simeão, the Gizbarim — hasten to the city's walls amid the tension of an imminent Roman intervention. As they debate the generosity and fickleness of the pagans while reaffirming their faith in the face of their enemies' greed, they prepare to secure a sacred offering originating from a temple in Pompeii. Rich in satirical dialogue and mystical references, the narrative explores the conflict between the sacred and the profane, culminating in an unexpected moment when the appearance of a singular animal disrupts the ritual order, symbolizing the rupture of traditions and the fragility of convictions.
