Ava Butler Box Set

For fans of Sandra Brown, Karin Slaughter, and Janet Evanovich — a complete Caribbean noir thriller trilogy with a singer, an FBI informant wire, and a crime boss who picked the wrong woman to underestimate.

Ava Butler is thirty-something, single-mother, temp worker, and one of the most compelling voices her new producer has ever heard. She is also, as of this week, a reluctant FBI informant — blackmailed into wearing a wire inside the cryptocurrency company where she works, in exchange for not being charged with a murder she didn't commit. The body that started everything was a girl Ava used to babysit. Then a second turns up dead. Then a third.

The Ava Butler Box Set collects all three complete novels in Pamela Fagan Hutchins' irresistible Caribbean noir series. Across three books, Ava navigates a corrupt FBI agent, a criminal network running guns and human trafficking through the islands, a national music tour with a stalker who follows her to every venue, a bomb under her car, a kidnapping on a billionaire's private island, and an Irish crime boss named Fagan who has been three steps ahead of everyone — until now.

These are thrillers with real momentum — propulsive, intricately plotted, and shot through with the dark humor that only emerges when things have gone very badly wrong. Ava gets drugged, bombed, stalked, and shot at. She also writes songs in the middle of all of it, raises a daughter who is more competent than most adults, and falls in love against her better judgment.

The series is complete with three books. Start with Bombshell — and clear your schedule.

She came to the islands to build a life. Three books later, she's still building — and still refusing to go down without a fight.
