It provides a detailed and realistic portrayal of the social and economic conditions of the time. Arnold Bennett was a prolific and versatile writer, known for his novels, plays, and journalism. "Clayhanger" is considered one of his most significant works and reflects his keen observations of everyday life in the early 20th century England. The trilogy as a whole is praised for its rich characterizations and vivid depiction of the period's social and cultural dynamics.
