Grayson Woodford, the defiant heir to the Scanguards empire, seethes under his father Samson's matchmaking attempts. He wants nothing to do with a prearranged future, especially one involving the daughter of an old friend.

Thousands of miles away, Monique Montague, a fierce vampire hybrid and daughter of Louisianas vampire king, Cain, is equally enraged. She refuses to be tricked into dating the spoiled and arrogant Grayson she remembers from her childhood. Instead of attending the forced meet-cute, she seeks a night of wild abandon with a stranger she picks up in a bar—unaware that her mysterious lover is none other than Grayson himself.

Their explosive night of passion is violently interrupted by a sudden kidnapping, thrusting them back together into a world of chaos. Now, with their families' lives hanging in the balance, Grayson and Monique must set aside their fiery prejudices and simmering resentment. Can they overcome their history and the treacherous present to save their loved ones, or will the deadly conspiracy consume them both?

ABOUT THE SERIES

The Scanguards Vampires series is full of fast-paced action, scorching love scenes, witty dialogue, and strong heroes and heroines. Vampire Samson Woodford lives in San Francisco and owns a security/bodyguard company, Scanguards, which employs both vampires and humans. And eventually some witches. Throw in a few immortal guardians and demons later in the series, and you'll get the drift! Each book can be read as a standalone and always centers around a new couple finding love, but the series is more enjoyable when read in order. And of course, there are always a few running jokes - you'll understand when you meet Wesley, a wannabe witch. Enjoy!
