After settling in California and attending UCLA, Morrison formed The Doors in 1965 with Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, and John Densmore. Known for his enigmatic stage presence and deep lyrics, Morrison's fame grew rapidly, but he struggled with substance abuse. He moved to Paris in 1971, where he was found dead on July 3, 1971, at the age of 27.

Janis Joplin, born on January 19, 1943, in Port Arthur, Texas, was a pioneering rock and blues singer known for her powerful voice and emotional intensity. She first gained attention as the lead vocalist of Big Brother and the Holding Company, with hits like "Piece of My Heart." Her solo career, highlighted by the critically acclaimed album Pearl, cemented her status as a rock icon. Despite her success, Joplin battled addiction and died of a heroin overdose on October 4, 1970, at the age of 27. Her passionate performances and distinctive voice continue to inspire generations.
