Over the Wheel

"Over the Wheel" is an accessible and profusely illustrated guide to cycling vintage bicycles, such as the penny-farthing. It was originally written due to the contemporary explosion in popularity of cycling and aimed to illustrate the pleasures that can be derived from the sport, as well as to offer hints on technique, safety, health benefits, and more. Highly recommended for those with an interest in historic cycling and collectors of vintage sporting literature. Contents include: "First Lesson-Scene 1", "First Lesson-Scene 2", "The Mount-Scene 1", "First Lesson-Scene 2", "Coasting-Scene 1", "Coasting-Scene 2", "The Bow-Scene 1", "The Bow-Scene 2", "Racing-The Start", "Racing-The Stop", "First Trial of the Brake", and "The End (after ten hours riding)". Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this book now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially commissioned new introduction on the History of the Bicycle.
