ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

"Gathering Blue" by Lois Lowry tells the story of Kira, a young orphan with a twisted leg, who is taken to live in the Council Edifice after her mother's death. Kira is expected to use her weaving talents to serve the powerful Guardians. In this dystopian society, the truth is manipulated and the past is controlled through the annual Song, presented by the village's Singer.
