#1 My father, Ralph Everett Dudley, was born in 1955. He went by a lot of aliases, including Gucci Mane, because his father, George Dudley, had always loved fancy clothes. He had spent time in Italy during his years in the military, and fell in love with the Gucci brand.

#2 My father, James Mane, was a hustler and an alley cat. He was always ahead of his time, and I never saw him hold a nine-to-five job. He was shaped by the streets.

#3 My mother, Vicky, was a very smart and resourceful woman. She graduated from Jess Lanier High School in 1975 and went on to get an associate’s degree at Lawson State. She met my father, Ralph, in 1978. They fell in love quick.

#4 I came from a family of alcoholics, but I loved my granddaddy, Walter, and my grandmother, Madear. I was close with them. They spoiled me.
