#1 Ubuntu is a philosophy that was developed by the African people to overcome oppression. It recognizes the inner worth of every human being, and it is this belief that allows you to face adversity and oppression and still hold on to ubuntu and live it in your daily life.

#2 We are only who we are thanks to the people around us. We have our parents to thank for bringing us into the world, but beyond this there are hundreds - if not thousands - of relationships, big and small, which teach us something about life and how to live it well.

#3 The rise of social media has played a large role in stoking our fires of discontent. We are constantly comparing ourselves to others, but ubuntu teaches us that everyone on this earth is of equal value because our humanity is what matters the most.

#4 With ubuntu, we view the world through a prism not only of equality but also of gratitude. We aspire not to be unduly influenced by others when we form our thoughts and feelings, but we also acknowledge everyone who has helped us to become who we are.
