#1 Bobby and Aristotle Onassis met for the first time at a cocktail party in New York in the spring of 1953. Onassis was not such an old friend of Pamela Churchill’s, but he had become a close one after she had helped him buy the principality of Monaco.

His father had suggested that he join Senator Joseph McCarthy’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, an offshoot of a low-profile committee on government operations, which McCarthy had turned into a power base for his notorious communist witch-hunt.

#3 Bobby Kennedy was extremely upset that Onassis was at Pamela Churchill’s party in 1953. He felt that the two men who were born a quarter of a century and a world apart were competing with each other like a couple of Kilkenny cats.

#4 Bobby Kennedy was investigating an influx of homosexuals into the State Department, and he found that over three hundred ships owned by the New York Greek shipping families were regularly trading with Red China. He declared that America’s major allies were trading with the communists who were killing GIs.
