Laura Grimshaw and Jon Holmes present highlights and winners from this year's British Podcast Awards.

The British Podcast Awards ceremony takes place on Saturday 23rd July at Kennington Park in London. There are 30 awards being presented including Best New, Best Comedy, Best Current Affairs, Best Fiction, the Climate Award, and the Rising Star Award. Plus one of the winners will be crowned Podcast of the Year 2022. For Podcast Radio Hour, we will chat to the winners, hosts and judges at the ceremony to bring the awards to you.

British Podcast Awards

Podcasts can be a vital tool in exploring tough topics, this week Amanda Litherland is joined by Chrystal Genesis to recommend great series which tackle issues such as addiction and recovery. 

We hear from Melissa Rice and Jade Wye, hosts of BBC Radio 5 Live's Hooked: The Unexpected Addicts, a series which only began a year ago after winning the Rachel Bland New Podcast Award, and has now won the Broadcasting Press Guild award for Radio Programme Of The Year. 

Dave from Dopey podcast dials in from New York to tell us how his podcast helps thousands of recovering addicts and their loved ones around the world.
