The John Kobylt Show Hour 1 (10/23) - Tim Conway Jr. fills in for John. Reporter Jayson Campadonia detailed that 21-year-old Jashanpreet Singh of Yuba City, California, has been identified and charged in connection with the fiery 10 Freeway crash that killed three people and injured four others. Authorities allege Singh, an Indian national who entered the U.S. via the Mexico border in 2022, was driving under the influence of drugs and failed to brake before the collision. Later, Eric Sklar (“The Duke of Sports”) joined to discuss the NBA gambling scandal, highlighting a developing story that reportedly involves both a current coach and player. Betting lines for the Chargers vs. Vikings game were also mentioned (Chargers –3.5). The scandal reportedly ties to former NBA player Damon Jones, who is alleged to have traded insider information—including details about LeBron James missing a 2023 Lakers game—as part of a broader gambling probe shaking the league.

The FBI says the groups ran multi-million-dollar betting and poker schemes allegedly tied to Mafia families, fixing outcomes and manipulating wagers. Dean Sharp, The House Whisperer, shared tips on “How to NOT Live in a Haunted House,” offering design and energy-flow advice to make homes feel peaceful and balanced. He also promoted the upcoming Kellogg House Ghost Tour in Santa Ana (Oct. 27) and discussed how California’s Coastal Commission is making it nearly impossible for Palisades fire victims to rebuild — only four permits have been approved so far. Sharp added that Malibu’s septic tank regulations are another major hurdle, with removal and replacement costs running sky-high. The hour closed with news that Gladstone’s, the iconic Pacific Palisades oceanfront restaurant, will soon be demolished and replaced by a celebrity chef fine-dining venue, signaling the end of a beloved L.A. landmark.

Crime continues to surge in Arcadia, where a jewelry store heist saw burglars tunnel through a wall to loot valuables, followed by a home invasion where armed intruders tied up victims, stealing both jewelry and a car. In West Hollywood, a Rolex thief picked the wrong target—his victim turned out to be a professional fighter, who tackled and subdued him on the spot.
