साल था 1949...लंदन स्कूल ऑफ इकोनॉमिक्स एण्ड पॉलिटिकल साइन्स में डिग्री हासिल करने के बाद के आर नारायणन भारत लौटे थे. इस दौरान वो अपने साथ एक पत्र भी लेकर आए थे. ये पत्र था उनके गुरु और प्रख्यात अर्थशास्त्री हेराल्ड लॉस्की का. लॉस्की ने ये पत्र तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री जवाहर लाल नेहरू के लिए भेजा था. दरअसल, लॉस्की, नेहरू के बहुत अच्छे मित्र थे और नेहरू भी लॉस्की का बहुत सम्मान करते थे.

The year was 1949... KR Narayanan returned to India after earning a degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science. During this, he also brought a letter with him. This letter was from his mentor and eminent economist Harald Lossky. Lossky had sent this letter to the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Actually, Lossky was a very good friend of Nehru and Nehru also respected Lawsky very much.

KR Narayanan: जिनकी शादी के लिए बदला गया India का कानून

साल था 1965। भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच युद्ध चल रहा था। गुजरात में भुज के आसपास उड़ान भर रहा एक भारतीय हेलीकॉप्टर एक पाकिस्तानी लड़ाकू विमान का लक्ष्य था। दुश्मन देश के लड़ाकू विमान में बैठे फ्लाइट लेफ्टिनेंट बुखारी और फ्लाइंग ऑफिसर कैस हुसैन ने अपने कमांड से पूछा कि इसका क्या किया जाए, क्योंकि यह एक नागरिक हेलीकॉप्टर था। वहां से जो जवाब आया और उसके बाद कैस हुसैन ने जो किया वो पाकिस्तान के दामन पर हमेशा के लिए दाग बन गया.

हेलीकॉप्टर में गुजरात के तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री बलवंतराय मेहता, उनकी पत्नी सरोजबेन, एक पत्रकार और तीन सहयोगी बैठे थे। सुनिए उपेंद्र एक मौजूदा मुख्यमंत्री की हत्या की यह कहानी सुनाते हैं। बाल विवाह को समाप्त करना, अन्य बातों के अलावा।

The year was 1965. There was a war going on between India and Pakistan. An Indian helicopter flying around Bhuj in Gujarat was the target of a Pakistani fighter plane. Flight Lieutenant Bukhari and Flying Officer Kais Hussain sitting in the enemy country's fighter aircraft asked their command what to do with it, as it was a civilian helicopter. The answer that came from there and what Kais Hussain did after that has always become a stain on Pakistan's hem. 

Sitting in the helicopter were The then Chief Minister of Gujarat Balwantrai Mehta, his wife Sarojben, a journalist, and three associates. Listen to Upendra narrate this story of a sitting Chief Minister's assassination.

T N Seshan: वो Election Commissioner जो नेताओं पर 'कोड़े इस्तेमाल' करता था

हिमाचल की सियासत में सबसे लंबे वक्त तक राजनीतिक पारी खेलने वाले वीरभद्र सिंह की दिल्ली से हमेशा टकराहट ही रही. साल 1993 में जब नरसिम्हाराव सरकार ने उन्हें मुख्यमंत्री बनाने से साफ इनकार कर दिया तो उनके समर्थकों ने दिल्ली से भेजे गए पर्यवेक्षकों को ही हिमाचल में बंधक बना लिया. साल 2003 में जब सोनिया गांधी से टकराहट हुई तो उन्होंने पार्टी को ही तोड़ने की धमकी दे डाली. 

वीरभद्र सिंह से जुड़े ये सारे किस्से आइए जानते हैं.

Virbhadra Singh, who played the longest innings in the politics of Himachal, always had a confrontation with Delhi. In the year 1993, when the Narasimha Rao government flatly refused to make him the Chief Minister, his supporters took the observers sent from Delhi hostage in Himachal. In the year 2003, when there was a clash with Sonia Gandhi, he threatened to break the party itself.

BR Ambedkar: पैदा Hindu घर में हुए, पर Muslim बनने का सोचते थे
