On the last day of classes, those that live around Cabineral Lake come together to celebrate Beltane and the start of summer. Shauna, Taytra, and their closest friends prepare for a night full of dancing, spectacle, and joy. But what is a celebration without someone getting into trouble?
With the end of lessons looming upon them, Philippe is distant, and Shauna isn’t sure if it is because of her or the unknown of the future. While Taytra took part in the Beltane celebrations last year and is more than content to watch her sister enjoy the night, others have a different idea.

Each year men and elves are tested to see if the Fritual of their kingdom will be revealed, a powerful person able to control an elemental magick. Shauna Flynn has always wanted to meet a Fritual, but these magick users had all but disappeared in the war of men and elves nearly two hundred years before. Shauna has always wanted to meet a Fritual, she never thought she would be the fritual. Shauna is the first human to ever be able to control magick. Forced from her home by a group of elves known as the Dark Ones who want to control the first human Fritual, Shauna has to find the other Frituals and stop the Dark Ones, to save herself, her family, and the home she has always known.

Shauna Flynn grew up wanting to meet a Fritual.

She never thought she would be a Fritual, but now she isn’t alone. She has found three of the other Frituals, and like her, they are all trying to understand what they can do in a world that doesn’t want their magick to be shared.

Taytra Flynn wanted a purpose.

But she never thought her purpose would take her away from her family, away from her home. She never thought she would be branded a Rebel and the leader of an uprising.

But with the Dark One’s power closing in on them both sisters are left with the same question. Will I be strong enough to fight them again?

Rebellion

Each of the kingdoms have fallen one by one into the hands of the Dark Ones. So while Taytra, Ward, Andrew, and their little band of rebels have escaped to Hollens, they know they aren’t safe. Not for long. The Dark Ones prowl just outside the city’s walls, waiting to strike. All the while, the young leaders fight for an audience to help their people to heal after their imprisonment in Cabineral. With three of the Frituals: Paulo, Lyra, and Barin at their side, they know it is time to make a move. The Dark One’s power is spreading across the lands, and they have little time before no one can stop them.

Every day since being marked a Fritual, Shauna has watched the life she had known be torn to shreds. She had left her home of Cabineral to escape the Dark Ones and try to protect herself and her family, and for what? Though both she and Philippe were marked as Frituals, they couldn’t stop the Dark Ones from capturing them. And this time, escape won’t be so easy, for something is blocking their magick.
