ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK

The Black Witch by Laurie Forest follows Elloren Gardner, a young woman who believes in the superiority of her race, the Gardnerians. Her world is turned upside down when she begins attending a university where she is forced to interact with people of other races, challenging her deeply ingrained prejudices and forcing her to question her beliefs.

 

As Elloren learns more about the history of her world and the experiences of others, she begins to understand that the lines between good and evil are not as clear as she once thought. She realizes that her own people may not be as noble or as good as she has been told, and begins to see that they are capable of great cruelty and prejudice. Her journey of self-discovery is set against the backdrop of political maneuvering and control, as well as a growing awareness of her own magical powers and her connection to the Black Witch of prophecy. The book explores themes of racism, prejudice, power, and the importance of questioning the status quo, as Elloren must choose who to trust and fight for.
