A tale of two cities by Charles dickens. Dickens is regarded as the most important novelist of Victorian age and his novel a tale of two cities is regarded as a classic anti war fiction. Drawing heavily upon the war between England and France, this novel shows the collapse of the meta narrative of progress and western civilization. The war mongers are condemned in this novel and the opening lines of the novel have become classic. This novel is a swansong and masterwork of genius. The present book attempts to describe the deeper meaning inherent in the novel and tries to analyse it from various angles.
