Post-Impressionism: Exploring the Divergence from Impressionism

Post-Impressionism is an art movement that emerged in France in the late 19th century, evolving directly from the innovations of the Impressionists but diverging significantly in both style and philosophy. While the Impressionists focused on capturing the fleeting effects of light and color in the natural world, Post-Impressionists sought to push the boundaries of art further, exploring deeper emotional expression, symbolic meaning, and new approaches to structure and form.
