In Love with a Stranger

U.S. Marshal Lance Caldwell is immediately smitten by the photo of the woman he has been assigned to protect—even though he knows getting romantically involved with his charge is strictly forbidden. He takes the assignment believing he can handle the challenge. But when he learns he must guard her without her knowledge, things get complicated.

When Jamie Kowalski is whisked away to an out-of-the way ranch as part of the witness protection program, she insists she’ll only leave her successful, though lonely, Manhattan job if she doesn’t have a body guard breathing down her neck. The problem is, once she gets to Wyoming, she keeps hearing unsettling sounds coming from the forest behind the ranch house, and she wishes she hadn’t been so hasty in her request.

When Lance’s creative methods to protect Jamie fall apart, because of his growing feelings for her, she starts seeing Lance as a threat. Unfortunately, she is falling in love with him.

Will he ever be able to rein in his feelings for Jamie? Will she ever be able to come to trust him? If not, they may both end up jeopardizing her safety, and ultimately their own hearts.
