Fakta og dokumentar
Placing the Bucket started off as a practical guide focusing on preparing for death, but as it progressed it went on to include pain management, grieving and culminated in suggestions to the newly bereaved, as they commence their new life alone; as such it is intended for both men and women... men who perhaps need to take a leading role in planning and preparing for death, and women in respect of advice on their resumption of a normal life, once their husband has died. Some may consider the author's gender approach somewhat sexist, but it is based on the assumption that many men invariably die first, their average longevity in the first World countries being at least five to six years less than that of women. Just look around any retirement village and the preponderance of women will verify this statement! It is recommended reading for both mature aged and younger couples alike (but not for those already deceased - for them I am afraid it is one book too late!). Given the serious nature of the subject matter, I won't encourage you to enjoy the book, but I do hope that you find it beneficial and that you read it in time!
