#1 I was sick in 1989, and my wife and I had to go to a mountain village to share the gospel. I began to feel sick and weak, and my eyeballs were yellow. I went to a local doctor, who ran some blood tests and confirmed that I had a very serious case. I would need to be in bed on a strict diet for four months.

#2 The gifts of the Spirit, including healing, have not passed away. They remain alive in the church today, and their purpose is to spread the gospel to every creature.

#3 The command to preach the gospel was not just given to the apostles, but to the entire church. If not, then we are not called to preach the gospel today because that command died with the last apostle.

#4 The apostles of the Lord could not be around generation after generation to lay hands on each new believer and give them the power of the Spirit. The power was not the apostles’ power, but the Lord’s power that confirms the gospel.
