"The term kill chain is a military concept, framework, strategy or a doctrine – you may call it by any name - that identifies the all the possible structures of an enemy attack. It consists of: identification of target, dispatching of forces to target, initiation of attack on target and; the destruction of target. Conversely, the idea of ""breaking"" an opponent's kill chain is a possible method or doctrine of defense which would then dictate either preemptive actions or combative actions. Lockheed Martin has developed a parallel framework for cyber warfare - the Cyber Kill Chain. Subsequent to the 2013 Target Corporation data breach, in which millions of accounts were compromised, the US government has become serious to the threats of cyber crimes, and more particularly - cyber warfare. However, US is fast losing the ground to China US military and cyber security lags that of China. This is according to Christian Brose who mentions the minute details in his book THE KILL CHAIN. Brose was the principal advisor on national security and military issues Senator John McCain. Senator McCain at that time was the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. In that position, both of them had access to sensitive Pentagon information. And one such information was that China had gone ahead of the US in conventional and cyber warfare.
